the DIFFERENCE between MEN & WOMEN.

After Reading The article "The Difference Between Men & Women", I think girls tend to read to much into relationships and guys tend to not care at all. In this article the guy doesn't even have to say anything to the woman and shes starts flipping out. The only thing on his mind is his car not her. I mean if a guys not paying me any attention I wouldn't break down right there in his car. And if in fact if he cares about you he's going to show it. I think this situation shows the typical miscommunication between a woman's brain and a mans brain. I don't think we can ever change the communication structure between men and women. I say that because men are always going to see the physical features of the women & women are going to become more attached to a guy who doesnt care bout them. I think that men and woman will always be misunderstood, a girl can never understand how a guy feels, and a guy will NEVER understand how a girl feels.

Fahrenheit 9/11, A Mix?

Michael Moore's movie "Fahrenheit 9/11" was a look at former president Bush's supposed failures at responding to 9/11, invading Iraq and Afghanistan, and increasing homeland security. The film, in my opinion, was a pretty even mixture of harsh truth, and unfair insinuation; with some played up drama too. A lot of fact was there, but it was the music, editing, and attacking tone of the movie that made me feel like it was propaganda. Moore's points I think have a lot of research behind them, as evidenced on his website, but in the movie he makes a lot of assumptions. For example, ultimately saying the Bin Ladens and the Saudis control America through Bush and their investments in him is too far a leap to make and be vague about it. I think I would have liked the movie a lot more if everything wasn't so anti-Bush and more fact was presented. But I do see that without the overly paranoid nature it would not be as entertaining a movie; and however unfair the points he made may be, it gets people to question authority and think for themselves; I just wish it wasn't all a conspiracy theory.

Melting pot or Salad bowl

Groves is a melting pot. It is full of different cultures and people and they all blend together at times. Different groups can contain a bunch of different kinds of people and they all pick up on eachothers cultures. Our school allows for cultural differences and embraces new people. One benefit of our "melting pot" of a school is that students learn acceptance of different cultures. Most of us are able to accept the new ideas and customs that a different culture brings. The fact that we are exposed to so many different cultures at young ages allows us to learn acceptance and different cultural ideas that we may use later on in life.

On Native Soil

Some parts of this movie really bothered me. I was disturbed at the miscommunications between the air traffic controllers and the people they were talking to. No one seemed to know what was going on when it was blatantly in front of them. I was also disturbed at the fact that we could have done more to prevent the attack, we knew more about it then i had thought. One final thing that disturbed me was the footage of people jumping from the buildings. I can't even imagine standing in those buildings and making those kinds of decisions. Watching the planes hit the towers was another bit of the movie that was a little hard to watch. I would think about how those people may have felt at that very moment.
